How did intern Kristof become a Project Manager?
Kristof studied Applied Computer Science and started his career at AUSY Belgium as an intern: "During my first interview, I was grilled for almost 2 hours. I consider it positive that AUSY Belgium takes so much time to get to know candidates, even interns."
"During my internship, I made a proof of concept PHP application of a program that AUSY Belgium then used to manage clients and consultants internally. It was very educational, especially because I also got to know the operation of the company."
We don't like to let great interns leave, so we offered Kristof a job.
"And without a doubt, I accepted the job! The atmosphere here is great. AUSY Belgium is very result-driven but also focuses on people. Moreover, I'm also getting the chance to upgrade my skills and to come up with new ideas."
Kristof started to work at Solutions, an internal project department at AUSY Belgium. He contributed to the websites of Cerga, Zwitsal, and Schwarzkopf. Later, thanks to our Staffing service, he worked as a Drupal Developer at Telenet and assisted in creating the new Veritas website.
"And then, all of a sudden, I heard of kañooh!"
Kristof goes on: "Before I can tell you more about kañooh, I have to explain what Paddle is. Paddle is an AUSY Belgium consortium. Via the kañooh framework agreement, Paddle invested in a Software-as-a-service platform for websites of the Flemish government. Thanks to kañooh, public authorities can easily build websites. Today, the platform holds over 250 websites."
Thanks to Paddlets, the CMS is easy to use. But what are Paddlets?
"I immediately asked AUSY if I could start working at kañooh. And sure enough, I became a Drupal Service Delivery Coordinator!"
What did this job include?
"I was responsible for the helpdesk of the platform, where editors could ask questions, identify bugs or request new features. Thanks to my technical skills, I was able to fix problems quickly, and to spot opportunities for new features."
"Everyone in the kañooh office has a startup mentality. So as an employee, you can share your ideas on the future of the platform. Thanks to this approach, I was able to become a Project Manager. I'm responsible for managing the Agile development team that creates and supports the platform."
Kristof is a passionate colleague and has ambitious plans for the future: "In the future, I would like to announce the platform to target groups other than the Flemish government.
